Eagles Make Moves Before Sunday

Heading into Sunday the Eagles made a few moves, and made announcements on a few players as well. Here is your update heading into the weekend so that you’re all caught up.

Ed Reynolds Signed

Ed Reynolds was signed off the Practice Squad today to fill the role that is now vacated by the season ending shoulder injury that Couplin suffered in the Dallas game. Reynolds flashed in pre-season, so lets hope the young guy can come out and provide a spark on special teams.

Now, who will the Eagles sign to fill his spot on the Practice Squad?

Next item up is injuries to players that may have played this weekend. Here is the official word that has now been reported by the Eagles.

Sam Bradford (concussion, left shoulder) and Ryan Mathews (concussion) have officially been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. This means Mark Sanchez starting, and Darren Sproles will get more of a role in the offense, just like he wanted.

Jason Peters is listed as questionable for the second straight week. Last Sunday, he worked out before the game but was not cleared to play, according to Chip Kelly.

Peters didn’t participate in Friday after he took “a lot” of reps on Thursday, according to Lane Johnson. If Peters can’t play on Sunday, Johnson would play left tackle and Dennis Kelly would play right tackle.

The following players are probable:

G Josh Andrews (concussion)

LB Connor Barwin (quad)

WR Josh Huff (back)

LB DeMeco Ryans (hamstring)

S Walter Thurmond (hamstring)

Barwin missed two days of practice this week but returned Thursday and said he would be good to go. Huff missed practice Thursday but said he would be good to play too. He did practice Friday.

So, there we have it. Everything roster related that you need to know about heading into the weekend. Let’s Go Birds! (Everyone have your alcohol ready in case)
