No, Eagles Fans Weren’t Cheering Sam Bradford’s Injury Yesterday

There’s apparently talk going around that Eagles fans cheered Sam Bradford’s concussion and shoulder sprain yesterday during the game.

What is it, Matt? Are the fans cheering Sanchez coming in? Are they cheering Bradford going out? Both? Neither? Maybe they just got some awesome chicken fingers delivered to them. To be quite honest, Sanchez was up and throwing while Bradford was still on the ground. I saw this with my own two eyes.

I understand the fan reputation Philadelphia has, but if you’re going to say you’re there so you know what the cheering was in reaction to, and I’m there and I say the fans were cheering Sanchez going in the game and not Bradford’s injury, who’s right? Who’s wrong?

Oh, just stop. Stop with the, “Were you at the game?” crap. You heard others cheer Bradford’s injury. I’m sure there were people that did that. I was also there, and the entire section I was in was cheering for Sanchez coming in. They were not dissing Bradford at all. In fact, a lot of them were saying they hope he wasn’t hurt badly, but they hope Sanchez can finally bring a spark to the offense. That’s what I was hearing. Were others hearing different stuff? Probably. There’s 70,000 people there. There sure as hell wasn’t 70,000 fans cheering that Bradford was hurt.

Another thing is that it really feels like Lombardo has been holding onto this moment for a while. Bradford hasn’t been great this year, and the fans have made that known they haven’t really been behind him because he’s been inconsistent. So, what do you expect to happen when he inevitably gets injured? Some cheers, for sure. And Lombardo goes all, “Well, you complain about the reputation of the fans and then you go and do this!” like it was some sort of plan by the entire fanbase.

The pulse of social media at this point isn’t that Bradford’s injury is great news. But, again, Lombardo needs to have that hot take.

But, Matt wasn’t completely off base in his perceptions for the entire afternoon.

Yup. That was embarrasing.
