Week nine is in the rear view mirror for the Philadelphia Eagles and the rest of their division rivals in the NFC East. Well it looks like we’ve got ourselves a two horse race going down the stretch in the NFC East. While the New York Giants sit atop the division for now, the Philadelphia Eagles are right on their heels, trailing by just a half game. Let’s not forget about the Washington Redskins, they’re only a game behind the Eagles and already have a win over them this season. But let’s totally forget about the Dallas Cowboys since their season is all but done at 2-6. Now let’s take a look into each team individually heading into Week 10!

New York Giants (5-4)

It wasn’t pretty but the Giants escaped their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a victory. But this week they’ll likely face their toughest test of the season. They’re set to take on the undefeated New England Patriots, who they obviously have some history with. It’ll certainly be a fun storyline to watch for considering their past but the Giants don’t realistically have a shot at beating the Patriots. Even though they’ll be without Dion Lewis, the Patriots still have more than enough weapons to embarrass New York’s struggling defense.

Next Game: vs. New England Patriots, Sunday, November 15th, 4:25 PM

Philadelphia Eagles (4-4)

Well that was awesome, wasn’t it? Not only did the Eagles get a huge divisional win on the road against the Cowboys, they basically ended their season as well. But now it’s time for them to keep heading in the right direction and they’re heading into a three game stretch where they could realistically go 3-0. They’ll host the Miami Dolphins this week, host the Buccaneers the week after that and then visit the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. All of those teams have their fair share of problems and should equate to three wins for the Eagles. It’s just up to them to take advantage of this weak part in their schedule.

Next Game: vs. Miami Dolphins, Sunday, November 15th, 1:00 PM

Washington Redskins (3-5)

I LIKE THAT! That’s what I said to myself in my best Kirk Cousins’ voice after the Redskins fell to the Patriots on Sunday. Although they stunned the Eagles earlier in the season, the Redskins seem to now be in the rear view mirror of the NFC East. They’re trending in the wrong direction and still have some tough games left on their schedule as well, including a rematch with the Eagles in the City of Brotherly Love. Sure, Cousins’ heroics were cool while they lasted, he won’t be able to save their season.

Next Game: vs. New Orleans Saints, Sunday, November 15th, 1:00 PM

Dallas Cowboys (2-6)

Game. Over. The Cowboys are now 2-6 and essentially eliminated from playoff contention. We no longer have to worry about them lingering around until Tony Romo comes back. Now he’ll only take the field if he wants to risk re-injuring himself during a meaningless game. Now we get to just laugh at the Cowboys for all the things we laughed at them for in the offseason. Signing that awful human bieng Greg Hardy, thinking Joseph Randle was the answer at running back, etc. Good riddance!
