The Eagles’ Next Head Coach Is…?

Last night was crazy. Once news broke that Chip Kelly was fired, chaos ensued. There were reports on top of reports on top of more reports. Word is that Kelly already has two job offers. Per another report we know what Kelly is looking for in his next NFL gig.

One thing seems certain and that is that Jeff Lurie wants his team back. As one would expect, there has been plenty of player reaction to this story. Michael Irvin even said that DeSean Jackson is responsible for getting Kelly fired.

Where does this all leave the Eagles in their coaching search?  NFL reporter for the NFL Network Albert Breer suggests that Philadelphia should turn to a familiar face.

McDermott has been with the organization a few times with his last stint starting in early 2009 when he was named the interim defensive coordinator due to then defensive coordinator Jim Johnson’s medical leave of absence. In July of 2009 due to the continuing decline of Johnson, the Eagles announced McDermott would take over as full-time defensive coordinator. Johnson later died on July 28, 2009.

This won’t be the last that we hear of speculation on the next Eagles coach. What do you guys think about McDermott? Let us know on social media.
