Flyers Choke against the Columbus Blue Jackets

Well that sucked! I’m not sure which is worse. Is coming out flat against the rival Penguins bad or is blowing a two goal lead with one minute left worse? The Flyers were up 2-0 with a little over a minute left against the Columbus Blue Jackets. They choked and the Blue Jackets ending up winning in a shootout.

Despite the loss, the Flyers will pull into a playoff spot over Detroit based on a game in hand. But man oh man, they blew this one and its one of those games that may come back to bite them in their asses at the end of the year.

The game also had it’s share of drama as the Blue Jackets’ Jared Boll was ejected early in the second period for interference on Philadelphia Flyers forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. Check out this hit.

Meanwhile, how amazing is Shayne Gostisbehere?

The kid is a flat out stud and he’s only going to get better with age. The Flyers had goals by Claude Giroux and Ryan White. The Blue Jackets had goals from Cam Atkinson and Boone Jenner.

The Flyers next play on Thursday in Colorado.
