The Phillies Want to Lock up Maikel Franco as Soon as Possible

The Phillies apparently know a good thing when they see one. A new report from Hector Gomez indicates that the team has offered third baseman, Maikel Franco, a six-year, $39 million deal. And why not? The kid is an absolute stud.

Franco had a .280 batting average with 14 homers, 22 doubles, and 50 RBI’s last season with the ball club.

He’s straight mashing the ball this spring as he leads the MLB with seven home runs already in Grapefruit League play and he shows no signs of slowing down. He could be in for a monster season.
