Carson Wentz Will Be Featured on the Regional Cover of Sports Illustrated This Week

The Eagles gambled on a franchise quarterback by moving up to No. 2 in last week’s NFL Draft. Now, he’s already gracing the cover of national magazines.

Carson Wentz will grace the cover of Sports Illustrated in our region this week as the magazine highlights the top three quarterbacks selected in the draft.

Look at that focus. It’s like he isn’t even playing a game. Legend.

Wentz joins Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch on their respective regional covers. The main story details how Goff, Wentz and Lynch were drafted. Here’s a synopsis:

Wentz secured legendary status in North Dakota in January when he led the Bison to their fifth straight FCS championship, 11 weeks after having surgery on his broken right wrist. He could’ve bailed on the team to be fully healed in time for the NFL combine. Instead, his loyalty and grit sparked a dramatic rise in his stock, which continued to soar at the Senior Bowl. Says Howie Roseman, the Eagles’ executive VP of football ops, “I was struck by the presence he had, the leadership he showed in a setting with all sorts of guys from bigger schools.”

If you’re into the draft, this promises to be a good read. I know Adrian and PHL Anon will be buying this one.
