Curt Schilling Is Afraid of Debating Stephen A. Smith for the Funniest Reason Ever

Former Phillie Curt Schilling is back in the news again. Schilling, who was recently fired from ESPN for his remarks about transgendered people, has never been shy about making political statements.  Schilling is a proud conservative and he has popped up in many headlines as of late for some very inflammatory remarks towards anyone that doesn’t fit the “conservative” profile, especially Muslims. Because he’s so very quick to take to social media to post so many “witty” anti-liberal memes, I find this latest news astonishing.

ESPN’s well-known loud mouth and ignoramus Stephen A. Smith, who is known for stirring the race pot, recently issued a challenge to Schilling about what went on at ESPN during Schilling’s time there. He isn’t a fan of how Schilling said that ESPN is a “house of hate.”

How dare he trash the network that prides itself on debates with no meaning? That’s marked territory. You don’t trash-talk The Stephen A. Smith Network.

Never. So, the challenge came. Here’s what Smith had to say, via the New York Daily News:

You (Schilling) want to sit here and have a debate about what really went on? Name the time and place and I’ll show up, with the permission of ESPN — of course. I guess listening to my boss makes me a bad guy. Well guess what? I’d rather be bad than stupid.”

“Let me speak up on behalf of ESPN when I say this to Curt Schilling: You are gone not because you have conservative views instead of liberal views. Your ass is gone because you did not want to listen. ESPN tells me to shut-up, they’re my employer whether I like it or not. If I want to keep my job, I’ve got to shut the hell up.”

Schilling, never one to back away from a challenge, would accept Smith’s offer, right? ESPN presents “The Racist-Off” between Smith and Schilling?

Wrong. The big, bad, fighter of freedom refuses to debate Smith. I know you’re asking yourself why would he be scared. Here’s why, straight from the horses mouth. Schilling had this to say on WEEI’s “Dennis and Callahan Show” via NESN.

What am I going to debate about? I have no interest. I’m 49 years old. I have had cancer, I’ve had a heart attack, I’m losing my hair. I’m not going to waste my time with people I don’t respect … I don’t respect him. I think he’s a racist, I think he’s a bigot. There’s nothing to debate, No. 1., and No. 2, there’s not a chance in hell that I would do anything that would bring that station another viewer, ever.”

Wow! There’s so much to cover in that small statement. Schilling thinks Smith is a racist, so he won’t debate him? I would think that Schilling would love to flaunt his ignorant feelings towards most human beings in a debate with Smith. But, I guess not. It must be easier just to send a Tweet or Facebook post and not have to worry about answering for his dickish comments.

Schilling was brutally honest though when he said, “There’s not a chance in hell that I would do anything that would bring that station another viewer, ever.” He’s right. Nobody was tuning into ESPN for that jackass anyway. But, Schilling wasn’t done yet. He rambled on.

I felt like I was back in fifth grade and I was being challenged on the playground at recess. What are we going to debate about? When the debate’s over, he’s not going to be any less racist. So, I don’t get that. He’s a tough guy for calling me out, that’s all.”

What a hypocritical douche.

Why is he a douche? Because you dont agree with him? Typical liberal. We don’t want anyone to label anyone. But if you don’t agree with us you are wrong and I will label you as a racist or some other type of bigot. You are the douchebag my friend. Respect that other people have their opinions even you dont agree and dont (label) them. I cant seem to find where it was a funny reason. He doesnt want to give espn anymore ratings and he realizes SAS wont change his opinions. Its a dumb debate that SAS only said it to increase ratings and suck espns teet. He is lucky he has a job.

Oh Curt, so this is what you’re doing when you’re not posting hateful memes on Twitter?
