Flyers Defenseman Evgeny Medvedev Facing DUI, Drug Charges

In April, shortly after the Flyers’ season was over, defenseman Evgeny Medvedev was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Last week, he was formally charged, according to Philly.com, with “driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.”

Included in the article is Medvedev being charged with “having a blood alcohol content of more than .16 percent – more than double the legal limit for drivers – when he was stopped by Lower Moreland police last month, according to court documents.”

He was also cited for driving without a license, disregarding traffic lanes and not using headlights. How the hell does this dude drive? A preliminary hearing is set for June 15th.

Yeah, he won’t be back next season. His contract will soon expire.
