The Long-Awaited Return of Cody Asche to the Phillies Is Upon Us

It took forever, but Cody Asche was recalled from the minors today after missing spring training and the first two months of the regular season. An oblique injury – really killer injuries for baseball players – Asche completed a three-week rehab assignment with the Phillies’ minor league system.

Asche will continue to play left field, but likely only against right-handed starting pitchers. The Phillies designated David Lough for assignment.

Asche’s stats during his rehab stint? A batting average of .169 with four home runs, eight runs batted in and 19 strikeouts.

Nice!
