Lane Johnson Expects There to Be Literal Fights at Training Camp

Training camp in late July and August means the return of football, and very, very hot weather. That makes for some players to lose their cool (no pun intended) and engage in fights with teammates, and even players from other teams during joint practices.

The Eagles have had their fair share of training camp fights through the years, especially this volatile one between Riley Cooper and Cary Williams from a few years ago:

That doesn’t mean there will be fights in every training camp, though. But with a new coach in Doug Pederson, who might run his training camp in a similar way to Andy Reid, fights might not be hard to come by. Players under Reid often talk about how intense his training camp was, and at least to one current Eagle, he believes that intensity will return to training camp (I guess it wasn’t there for Chip Kelly’s era). Lane Johnson said he expects there to be fights during training camp. And he wasn’t talking about the fight for a roster spot.

I’m all for a good training camp fight. They’re pretty entertaining. Just nobody get hurt.
