97.5 The Fanatic Suspends Three People for ‘Dwayne in Swedesboro’ Fake Caller Character

Three employees at 97.5 The Fanatic have been suspended for three days each for their roles in creating the ‘Dwayne in Swedesboro’ character at the station, according to Philly.com.

Executives at Greater Media have suspended three 97.5 The Fanatic employees for their role in a fake caller scandal that has garnered national media attention.

Sources with knowledge of the situation say Pat Egan, the producer who created the “Dwayne from Swedesboro” character, and Mike Missanelli’s on-air partner Jason Myrtetus have been suspended for three days, effective Friday.

Matt Nahigian, the station’s program director, has also been suspended. All three will be able to return to the station Wednesday.

According to reports from Crossing Broad and Philly.com, Nahigian was to meet with Black Lives Matter Pennsylvania organizer Asa Khalif tomorrow at the station. Philly.com reports it’s unknown whether that meeting will still take place.

Stay tuned.
