Update: Sixers Game Postponed Due to Unplayable Conditions on the Floor

In an odd turn of events, Wednesday night’s Sixers game against the Sacramento Kings at the Wells Fargo Center is delayed due to condensation and overall wet conditions on the playing floor.

The game was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The first report of the situation came across at about 6:30pm.

The Sixers media contingent then picked up on the story and started tweeting out photos and videos of the clean-up crew and the floor.

After a meeting of the minds at center court, the Sixers as well as Wells Fargo Center brass have asked for a delayed tip-off just 15 minutes before the game was slated to begin.

The Sixers have not released any official communication on the status of tonight’s game, at the time of this initial post.

UPDATE #1 (7:10pm): 

10 minutes after the game was scheduled to begin, the Sixers officially sent out communication, but it included no new information.

UPDATE #2 (7:32pm):

According to Molly Sullivan’s report on the CSN Philly broadcast as well as Marshall Harris’s tweet, see below, tonight’s game will be postponed, but that is not official yet.

UPDATE #3 (7:46pm):

According to an announcement over the PA speaker at the Wells Fargo Center stating that “no decision has been made yet” about the game and that there will be an update in 15 minutes.

UPDATE #4 (8:03pm): The game between the Sixers and the Kings has officially been postponed due to player safety with the floor. There has not been a makeup date officially announced. The official word, which came via an announcement over the PA speaker, was met by boos from fans in attendance.
