Deshazor Everett Received a Hefty Fine for His Two Special Teams Penalties

Deshazor Everett wasn’t suspended for his vicious hit on Darren Sproles’ punt return during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 27-22 loss to the Washington Redskins, but he won’t have as much money to spend during the holidays.

Everett was fined $48,000 for the hit not only on Sproles, but another penalty as well on an illegal blindside block, according to Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post.

Here was the hit on Sproles that had everybody talking.

Everett’s base salary is only $525,000, which means his fine is more than his game check of $30,822. He has since apologized about the hit.

If I could have taken that split second back, I definitely would. It’s too late. You can’t take it back. You can’t rewind. It’s not a video game. You make choices out there on the field, and you’ve just got to live with it. Unfortunately, it was a bad hit.
