Week 15 NFL Analysis: The Day After Sunday

Are you looking for scores, recaps, highlights, and predictions all in one place? In this new segment, I will try to give a quick recap of what happened yesterday and give a quick prediction of what I see happening on Monday night. All this plus the highlights of all the top plays of the day! Let’s get to it, shall we?

Seahawks 24, Rams 3

The Seahawks did what they were supposed to do: win. Unfortunately for the Rams, it looks like they are on a long road to recovery and have a quarterback who has a lot to prove.

Dolphins 34, Jets 13

Matt Moore shines and throws four touchdown passes. Yes, in the words of Gene Hackman, “FOUR!” The Jets have already mailed it in and almost got Bryce Petty killed.

Ravens 27, Eagles 26

Even as John Harbaugh showed his displeasure for Marty Mornhinweg’s playcalling, the Ravens still took care of business. The Eagles gave them a scare, but in the end the better team won the game.

Bills 33, Browns 13

It looks like Rex Ryan will have more time to admire the art of feet next year as his job is hanging by a string. Shady McCoy keeps giving us every reason to trust him as the fastest back in the NFL and his 5.2 YPC are unprecedented. Oh, and the Browns lost again.

Packers 30, Bears 27

Aaron Rodgers on a bad calf was still enough to conquer the Bears. Ty Montgomery has been the MVP for this team over the last several weeks and has them on the way to hosting a playoff game.  Matt Barkley continues to put up major numbers and has some starting to think he can be a regular starter in the league next year. What a year in the NFL.

Steelers 24, Bengals 20

In a matchup that never disappoints, Big Ben and Carrot Top battled till the end. When the smoke cleared, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown were just too much. Will this be the end of the road for Mr. Lewis?

Texans 21, Jaguars 20

What a headline coming out of this one: The 70 Million Dollar Man has been benched! Yes, it finally happened and I give Bill O’Brien all the credit in the world. He stuck it out longer than expected and finally pulled the plug on his failed QB experiment. Brock Osweiler is a bust and Tom Savage is here to finish out his own swan song. Could there be a Cinderella story brewing in Houston?

Titans 19, Chiefs 17

Let’s ice the kicker. This is one of the worst trends in the NFL and now you see why. In the end, if Big Red knew how to finish a game, this wouldn’t even be on the agenda.

Colts 34, Vikings 6

What happened to the Vikings? Were they poisoned by the curse of Sam Bradford? Adrian Peterson makes a miraculous return, but it still wasn’t enough to swat away the surging Colts.

Giants 17, Lions 6

There’s no place like home! The Lions showed how out of sync they were in the cold weather and Steve Spags continues to show why he is still one of the best DCs in the game. The Giants could be the team no one wants to face in the playoffs.

Saints 48, Cardinals 41

Where was the defense in this game? After two lackluster performances, Drew Brees found his stride and brought Brandin Cooks back to life. On the flip side, something’s wrong in Arizona and Bruce Arians may be on his last lap.

Falcons 41, 49ers 13

Falcons win, 49ers lose. Devonta Freeman shines and Chip Kelly still stinks. Enough said.

Patriots 16, Broncos 3

Denver got to this point without an established QB, but now it may come back to bite them. Their defense showed up yesterday, but the offense let them down. On the other hand, the Patriots just win by any means necessary.

Raiders 19, Chargers 16

For the first time since 2002, the Oakland Raiders are heading to the playoffs. Derek Carr wasn’t fantastic, but played well enough to win. The Chargers did their best without their offensive MVP and will look rebound in 2017.

Cowboys 26, Bucs 20

Dak Prescott flirted with perfection and Ezekiel Elliott rang the Salvation Army’s bell. The Cowboys continue their storybook season and Jameis Winston shows he still has a lot to learn. There were a couple of missed opportunities from his arm and his line, but things a young team will fix. Either way, the future of the NFL is bright!

Monday Night Football prediction:

The Panthers have been finding their stride and ‘Skins look to stand firm at home. Washington has been trying to keep their playoff hopes alive while the Panthers are trying to salvage a horrid start to the season. Tonight, Superman flies across the national screen and hands the ‘Skins their kryptonite.

Panthers 26, Redskins 21 .

I hope you enjoyed the recap as well as the video below profiling all the top plays on Sunday.
