Who’s Officiating Today’s Eagles-Redskins Game?

The Eagles have taken the games out of the officials’ hands as of late as the Birds have found ways to lose the games themselves. However, it is still interesting to see who is going to be reffing the Eagles’ games and what to expect from that person’s crew.

For Sunday’s Eagles-Redskins match-up, Tony Corrente will be the referee. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Corrente averages 16.3 penalties per game so far this season. That is ninth most among NFL refs. Terry McAulay leads the league with 19.7 penalties per contest. McAulay worked Thursday night’s contest and threw 21 penalty flags.

The Eagles are the second most penalized team in the NFL. Match that with Corrente and his crew’s history of a high number of penalties bodes poorly for Doug Pederson and the undisciplined company.
