The Philadelphia Soul Will Be Holding Open Tryouts at the NovaCare Complex

The ArenaBowl Champions are looking to add to their roster. They’ll be holding open tryouts at the Eagles’ NovaCare Complex on Sunday, January 22nd. Conference Championship Sunday. From the website:

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with stretching starting at 9 a.m. Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel, General Manager Phil Bogle, Defensive Backs Coach Bernie Nowotarski and staff will be evaluating all players in attendance.

Every season, the Soul have found players that have been invited to training camp. The most notable over the years: Harvey Binford, Ryan McDaniel, Millersville’s Sean Scott and Penn State’s Jerome Hayes. In four seasons with the Soul, McDaniel racked up 345 receptions for 4,159 yards and 88 touchdowns. He had a critical TD reception in ArenaBowl XXIX to help lead the Soul to the Arena Football League Championship!

A pre-registration fee of $65 can be applied using PayPal at www.philadelphiasoul.com/tryouts before Friday, January 20 at 3 p.m. Registration after that time and the day of will require an application fee of $80 (cash or cashier’s check only). A t-shirt will be included in the cost and all fees are non-refundable.

Players will be tested on their 40-yard time and short shuttle with other position-specific drills and one-on-ones to follow. Please bring appropriate workout gear and shoes/cleats. Testing will take place on field turf – no metal cleats are permitted. All positions will be evaluated in tryouts- QB, WR, FB, DB, LB, DL & OL and K. A trainer will be on hand for emergencies only – not for player taping.
