LeSean McCoy’s Instagram Post Caused a Stir This Morning

There are plenty of Eagles fans that miss LeSean McCoy. After Chip Kelly got rid of both him and DeSean Jackson and failed to replace them adequately, there’s almost a slight movement – not a large one by any means – to bring those two back this offseason.

Jackson’s set to become a free agent. McCoy would have to be cut or traded by the Buffalo Bills. And this morning, some people thought that was ready to happen after LeSean McCoy posted this video on Instagram with the caption, “Buffalo was so special … thanks for everything.”

As the video shows, McCoy is signing autographs and he posted it on Instagram earlier this morning. But, according to Pro Football Talk, that’s not a farewell to Buffalo.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, McCoy hasn’t been cut. The message relates to an appearance (specifically, an autograph signing) that occurred in Buffalo on Saturday.

McCoy’s cap hit is $8.875 million next season. But, he had a great season and Buffalo would be silly to let a productive running back – in which that position is experiencing a sort of renaissance in the NFL today – get away. Maybe there’s a method to McCoy’s madness, but it’d be crazy to look into this any more than what it is.

UPDATE: McCoy has since edited the caption.
