The Phillies Could Induct Pete Rose into Their Wall of Fame Soon

He may not ever be eligible to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but Pete Rose could soon find his plaque on the Phillies’ Wall of Fame. According to Bob Brookover, the Phillies have been given permission, if they should choose, to induct Rose into their Wall of Fame.

A baseball source said Thursday that the Phillies have been given approval by Major League Baseball to induct Rose onto their Wall of Fame, an annual honor bestowed upon the organization’s greatest players. The process in order for that to happen begins with fan balloting, which is likely to open online at phillies.com later this month.

Brookover notes that Scott Rolen and Placido Polanco are expected to be candidates, as well. But, hell, if Jim Thome makes the Phillies’ Wall, inducting Rose is a no-brainer.
