Doug Pederson Gushes about Alshon Jeffery at the NFC Coaches Breakfast

The Philadelphia Eagles got Carson Wentz his playmaker earlier this offseason and head coach Doug Pederson spoke publicly about Alshon Jeffery for the first time during the NFC Coaches Breakfast on Wednesday morning.

To say he gushed about him is an understatement.

You look at the guy at like that, you look at size, you look at route-running ability, you look explosive to the ball, good hands, catch radius is big.

Pederson believes Jeffery is a perfect target for Wentz.

For Carson, really, just somebody that brings a little bit of that leadership into the room and makes that room better. The experience thing is a big factor in what we’re doing, and he can lead by example. We’ve got young guys. This will give our young guys an ability to watch a guy not only practice and play and create that competition we talk about all the time.

The presence of Jeffery could open up the field for other wideouts like Jordan Matthews, who Pederson praised and said he was a “dynamic slot receiver.” Pederson also mentioned that an entire offseason will help out Dorial Green-Beckham.

The receiving corps has definitely been greatly improved, just how improved remains to be seen.

Why is it only March?!
