Former Eagle Throws Major Shade at the Team’s Medical Staff after Sidney Jones Pick

The Eagles selected what many believed was the best cornerback in the NFL Draft this year with their second-round pick on Friday night. Sidney Jones, who suffered a torn Achilles during his Pro Day, is a Philadelphia Eagle. He likely won’t play this season, and if he does, he won’t see a monster workload coming off an injury like that.

However, not everyone was as excited as I was, surprisingly. After all, I expect everyone to always agree with my opinion all the time. That’s just how the world needs to work. But I digress.

Former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho was among the few who didn’t give a glaring review of the pick, if only because he doesn’t exactly trust the Eagles’ braintrust when it comes to their medical staff. Shortly after the pick was announced, Acho tweeted this:

If you’ll remember, the Eagles waived Acho a few years ago with a thumb injury. He clearly has experience with the medical staff, and doesn’t exactly think it was a good experience. However, Howie Roseman said after the pick was made that they’re not going to rush Jones onto the field.

“For us, it’s about what we believe this kid brings to our football team, going forward. We anticipate a full recovery for him. We don’t know that timetable. To be fair, we’re just going to make sure that he’s healthy physically, mentally, and ready to go, because we believe he can be an impact player for us, for a long time when he gets back on the field.”
