The Eagles Pick Another Cornerback, Rasul Douglas, in the 3rd Round

They said it was the deepest cornerback class in years and it was the biggest need for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into the NFL Draft.

Well, they just took a pair of them during Day 2 of the NFL Draft on Friday night. The Birds selected Sidney Jones in the second round and followed that up with West Virginia’s Rasul Douglas in the third.

At 6’2, Douglas is a tall cornerback that excels in jump ball situations using his length and strong hands at the catch point. He’s at his best in zone coverage where he can read the quarterback’s eyes and react.

Drafting a pair of cornerbacks in the second and third round was exactly how I wanted the Eagles to attack the draft due to the depth at the position; take the best player available on their board in the first and fill your need over the next two rounds.

The Eagles are killing this draft so far. You can check out my live reaction of the Douglas selection below.
