Video: Pierre-Édouard Bellemare Rejected Player of the Game Honor in World Championships

On Friday, Radko Gudas punched Claude Giroux in the face during the opening games for Team Czech Republic and Team Canada, respectively, in the IIHF World Championships.

On Sunday, another Flyer made headlines after Pierre-Édouard Bellemare was given Player of the Game honors after his squad, France, defeated Finland, 5-1, in what amounted to a pretty big upset. Only, Bellemare knew he didn’t earn the honor. Instead, he gave the award to goaltender Florian Hardy, who made 41 saves in the winning effort.

Watch it below.

Gotta love Bellemare.
