Fantasy Football: Week 2 Stars and Stiffs Report

Like the Notorious B.I.G. once said, “It was all a dream.” What a perfect way to sum up Week 1. As we prepare for Week 2, we all have to wonder if the offense will work its way back to the forefront. Week 1 left a lot to be desired and fooled with our emotions. There were multiple predictions that became reality, but injuries and weak performances seemed to overwhelm the headlines.

Will Alex Smith and Sam Bradford continue to look like Broadway Joe? Will Adrian Peterson and Mark Ingram continue to take a back seat to Alvin Kamara? Can Kareem Hunt replicate his Week 1 performance? Will Dak Prescott ever look Dez Bryant’s way? I could go on and on.

But instead, I will try and pick some winners for the week.

As always, I look forward to your opinions and feedback. You can tweet me with any lineup questions (@TCutillo23) and leave your comments below. I am always looking for new views and opinions. That’s what makes the world of fantasy sports so great!

Here are my picks for Week 2:

STARS

TOM BRADY

VS. NO

This is a no-brainer. Week 1 was bad and New Orleans couldn’t defend the Little Giants. Tom Terrific will be back!

DEREK CARR

VS. NYJ

Could the Raiders have gotten stronger? Beast Mode is back and less pressure is on Mr. Carr. Now the Jets will learn how bad they really are.

CARSON PALMER

@ IND

No DJ means Bruce Arians will air it out at all costs. Palmer is working with a rubber band arm, but it still has a few more stretches left. Oh, and they play the Colts!

LEONARD FOURNETTE

VS. TEN

29 touches in Week 1. Game plan is keep away from Blake Bortles. Fournette wins every time.

TY MONTGOMERY

@ ATL

He put a lot of critics to rest.  Looks like Green Bay has no problem letting him lead the charge.

JACQUIZZ RODGERS

VS. CHI

The main man until Doug Martin is back. He showed he had no problem being the man in 2016.

DOUG BALDWIN

VS. SF

This has the makings of one of those classic two-TD games from Baldwin.

TYREEK HILL

VS. PHI

At home against a Philly secondary that gets spun around quicker than a turnstile on the NY subway. Enough said!

DEVANTE PARKER

@ LAC

Can someone say shootout? Jay Cutler is coming straight from Laguna Beach and will use the Kan Jam stroke he learned to air it out to DP.

STIFFS

JAY CUTLER

@ LAC

He may be good for a long TD, but the pick machine is back and it may be a while until he is able to brush the sand off.

KIRK COUSINS

@ LAR

Kirk Cousins played scared like a 10-year-old who just got done watching the movie IT. All he missed was the red balloons!

MATTHEW STAFFORD

@ NYG

He had a great Week 1, but to replicate it against the Giants in their house will be tough.

MARK INGRAM & ADRIAN PETERSON

VS. NE

I am all in on the Kamara train. He showed alot of potential and was most active in week 1. Look for that to rollover into week 2.

ROB KELLEY

@ LAR

The ‘Skins are a mess and will be inconsistent all year. Ten carries and no catches in Week 1. Not what I want in a starting RB.

CARLOS HYDE

@ SEA

Brian Hoyer behind center and a visit to Seattle to play against the Legion of Boom. Any questions?

TY HILTON

VS. ARZ

Indy is a mess. With Andrew Luck out until October, Hilton’s never been happier to go trick-or-treating!

ODELL BECKHAM, JR.

VS. DET

For me, it feels like a limited snap count will be on point for OBJ. His injury is serious and I want to see him play first before he starts.

DEZ BRYANT

@ DEN

Not sure what is going on with this combo, but until Dak Prescott shows he will look his way, playing against a tough opponent makes me worry.

TRIPLE THREAT PICK OF THE WEEK

TOM BRADY

VS. NO

Tom Terrific looked every bit of 40 in Week 1 and his team looked lost. When is the last time that has happened? I am chalking this one up to an Epiphany and Tom will take the pep talk from Gisele and turn into Fantasy Gold!

MARSHAWN LYNCH

VS. NYJ

“I am only here to prove I can still play!” Beast Mode is back and ready to help the Raiders win a Super Bowl. Unfortunately for the J-E-T-S, they will get run over by this steam engine in Week 2.

MIKE EVANS

VS. CHI

A week off and a Bears team who couldn’t stop him on the outside already has Evans thinking about dessert.
