Fantasy Football: Philadelphia Eagles Stock Market Report for Week 7

Do you believe in magic? Do you believe in destiny? Even if you don’t, it sure feels like the football gods have bestowed upon the Birds and have an ultimate plan laid out that is full of nothing but success.

It’s Week 7 and the Philadelphia Eagles are the class of the NFC right now. With a road that keeps forming in the ultimate direction of uncharted waters, Doug Pederson is doing everything possible to keep paddling. This team is for real and has what every past champion has had in the past- a franchise quarterback. The Redskins are a familiar foe, but still offer many opportunities for fantasy production.

Here’s my report on who could be valuable fantasy assets in Week 7.

Trending Up:

Zach Ertz: Mr. Ertz’s neighborhood has been a pleasant place to visit this year and keeps getting more exciting. Ertz has a knack for finding the soft zone in a busted coverage and finding the right time to be a safety valve for Carson Wentz. With a team that likes to blitz, he should find no problem being a top target this week against the ‘Skins.

Projection: 9 rec., 78 yds, 1 TD

Nelson Agholor: Agholor has showed all season long why he was a first-round pick. Whether it’s the system or the new wide receivers coach in Mike Groh, he has come to play each and every week. It isn’t a stretch to say he’s already turned into one of the top slot guys in the NFL. He is good for one big play a week and Week 7 won’t be any different.

Projection: 5 rec., 86 yds, 1 TD

Carson Wentz: Oh, how times have changed! For those who follow me know I have said Wentz is not a fantasy starter in this league and will only offer up spot production. Well, now is the time to admit I was wrong. As the leader of this offense, he commands more than enough chances to score and isn’t afraid to tuck and run. He has gone from waiver wire fodder to weekly starter in a little over two weeks. Bravo, Carson. Bravo!

Projection: 313 yds, 2 TD’s

Trending Down:

Alshon Jeffery: For everyone who drafted Jeffery as the Chicago Bear of old, now is the time to face the music. I predicted in the preseason on Pi Live that he’d have a few good games, but only amass to ~65 receptions on the year. It looks like I am well within my mark. In an offense that spreads the ball around, starting Jeffery as a productive performer seems to be long gone.

Projection: 5 rec, 68 yds

Torrey Smith: With every pass caught by guys named Marcus Johnson and Mack Hollins, Smith takes one step closer to the bench. Smith is good for a big play here and there, but consistent production is just not going to happen.

Projection: 3 rec, 36 yds

Insider Trading Tip:

Corey Clement continues to earn playing time and looks good when given the chance. On a team that has a running identity and a lack of runners, Clement will get consistent touches every week.
