Predictions for Eagles vs. 49ers Week 8

The Eagles host the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at 1:00 P.M. on FOX. The 0-7 49ers, that is. No time for a letdown now. The Eagles need to take care of business.

We’ll be treated to Kenny Albert and Charles Davis on the FOX call. Of course, Merill Reese and Mike Quick, along with Howard Eskin, will be taking you on the ride on 94WIP.

To the predictions:

Candis McLean (@CandisRMcLean):

Oh yes, the vaunted Torrey Smith revenge showdown. I’m well aware that this game has nothing to do with Smith, but when a matchup is this uneven, you have to find storylines where you can. The Eagles are red hot and won’t be cooling off this Sunday when they take on the 49ers. Considering The Linc will be roaring with a raucous crowd, the dominance of our defensive line, and our MVP candidate at the helm, I have no choice but to pick the Eagles. I’m all about being humble but the 49ers are simply not good enough. To quote Kendrick Lamar, “It’s levels to it, you know and I know,” and the Eagles are at the pinnacle right now.

Eagles 35-7.

Dave Uram (@MrUram):

Even though five of the winless 49ers’ seven losses were really close and this will be the Birds first game without Jason Peters and Jordan Hicks, the Eagles are too polished for this inferior team. Carson Wentz and company will continue to prove they can compensate for major injuries.

Eagles 30-14.

Tony Cutillo (@TCutillo23):

To be the man, you gotta beat the man! Carson Wentz has been doing his own Ric Flair impression, stylin’ and profilin’ all over the NFL. Next up, the San Francisco 49ers. I have been trying hard to find something of concern, but I cannot seem to find the words. The field conditions won’t be pretty, but the E-A-G-L-E-S chants will be heard as every rain drop hits the end zone. Sorry San Fran, the city will not be showing their brotherly love this weekend!

Eagles 44-10.

Anthony Mazziotti (@AntMazziotti):

The Eagles will have a field day against the lowly 49ers in the rain at Lincoln Financial Field. Despite the poor conditions I’m predicting total domination from the Birds. I still expect Wentz to pass for two touchdowns and rush for one. The defense will continue to shine and bamboozle CJ Beathard. The front four will eat all day long. No trap game here, Doug Pederson will make sure his team knows to take things one game at a time. The Eagles are the superior team and they will play like it Sunday.

Birds walk away with another W, giving them a 7-1 record.

Eagles 31-17.

Adrian Fedkiw (@AdrianFedkiw):

If the heavy rain does come, I do believe this game will be a little closer than if it’s sunny with minimal wind, but it’s going to be a win for the Eagles regardless. I can see this going similarly to the Redskins game with the Eagles come out a little flat, but once they flip the switch, they’ll blow the 49ers out of the water.

Eagles 34-17.

Nick Piccone (@nickpiccone):

Yeah, the weather could be a factor on the field come Sunday. But it won’t be enough of a factor to result in a huge upset. The Eagles have a different feel about them and I would expect them not to be sniffing themselves too much right now. They win by two touchdowns.

Eagles 28-14.

Sean Brace (@Sean_Brace):

In what should be a sloppy game due to weather, I don’t care what mother nature brings, the Eagles are winning on Sunday. The 49ers are a terrible team that is already dreaming about island times come January. Give me the Birds!

Eagles 29-13.
