Brian Dawkins and Terrell Owens Among 27 Semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame

The takeover in Canton might happen this summer!

Brian Dawkins and Terrell Owens were two of the 27 semifinalists announced for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.

Dawkins, who is in his second year of eligibility and a finalist for the Hall last year, spent the first 13 years of his career with the Eagles before signing with the Denver Broncos in 2009. He was one of the premier safeties in the game during his playing days, known for his passion, leadership, aggressiveness ball-hawking and hard-hitting style. Dawkins stated that he has no hard feelings any more about how his career in Philadelphia ended. The nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time NFL first teamer intercepted 37 passes during his phenomenal 16-year career, returning a pair for touchdowns.

Owens, who is in his third year of eligibility after quite frankly being snubbed last year, spent two seasons in Philly and led the Birds to a Super Bowl appearance in 2004 when he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. T.O. had nine catches for 122 yards in Super Bowl XXXIX coming off a broken ankle. Over the course of his 15-year career, the controversial Owens caught the eighth most passes in NFL history (1,078), recorded the third most touchdowns (153) and put up the second most yards (15,934).

Good luck to both!
