‘Good Morning Football’ proposes craziest Nick Foles trade yet

We’re still a few weeks away from the NFL Draft and well removed from the start of free agency, so coming up with content is difficult, especially for an every day show like Good Morning Football on the NFL Network.

But the trade scenario they came up with Monday involving Nick Foles was pure lunacy.

And what made it worse was that Reggie Bush actually accepted the proposed offer, which involved the New York Jets sending their No. 3 selection to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 32nd overall pick and Nick Foles.

The Jets sent three second-round draft choices to move up from No. 6 to No. 3 so they can draft a young signal caller, not trade it for a veteran like Foles. The Super Bowl LII MVP is also 29 and on the last year of his deal. He’d have to get paid, while the rookie would be on the books for cheap over the first four years, if not five if New York elects to use its fifth-year option. The Jets are also not ready to win right now and at least a few years from contending.

If Howie Roseman somehow pulled this off, we should just put him into the Hall of Fame right now along with Brian Dawkins. Penn State running back Saquon Barkley would be the pick if this trade was made, but we all know that the chances of it happening are slim. And I’m only saying slim instead of no chance because we can never discount Howie, but even he couldn’t pull this one out of his ass.

At least we know Bush will never, ever sniff a general manager job in the NFL.
