No panic yet… I say no to Dez

I’m not sure there’s another player out there that the Eagles could possibly give a chance to that made my stomach turn so fast than Dez Bryant.

During last night’s PiLive, “Jigsaw” went full Jigsaw on us and brought up the idea that Bryant to the Eagles is a must if Alshon Jeffrey begins the season on the PUP list.

Now as the season creeps closer, I totally understand the panic, as there are a few key players that have all of us wondering if they will be there for the season opener on September 6th. But folks, let’s keep it together! This team won last season because of playmaking and chemistry. There’s very little debate about that. A guy like Dez Bryant is the opposite on both of those fronts.

Let’s talk playmaking first. Sure, Bryant has some gas in the tank and did haul in 69 passes last season, but do you think he’s coming into the season in the best shape? Do you think he would hit the ground running in this offense? Sure, he’ll catch some balls, but I see a huge decrease in his production this season no matter where he lands.

To the chemistry, and I try not to get to caught up in things like this because if the production is there, then we can all look past the “me first” mentality, but as I just said, those days are long gone. He won’t improve chemistry. If anything, he’ll wear on it.

Finally, I was surprised to see 28% responded to a poll put out by Jon Marks from WIP. 28% would roll with Jigsaw? That’s a scary number. Below, get a taste of the logic behind bringing in Bryant and then please hit us up on the socials and let us know at Pi as we get closer to the season, if you’re ready to open the Cowboy receiver to Philly.
