Events Running Through the Week

1. Halloween Parties

When: Runs through Wednesday, October 31st

There are tons of Halloween parties going on the city this weekend. Head over to Xfinity Live! this Friday and Saturday for two amazing parties. The Voltage Lounge will be having an 80’s themed Halloween party. Manayunk Brewery will go full haunted while Mad River down the street will be having their annual Ghouls and Goblins party. Theater and movie lovers come out to Punch Line Philly this Friday for two drag performances of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Fillmore Philadelphia will be having a Halloween Skating Party this Sunday and the TLA will be hosting a Harry Potter Costume Party on that same night. 2. Fiddler on the Roof at the Academy of Music

Where: Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, October 28th

The famed classic Fiddler on the Roof comes to the Academy of Music this week. Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher brings this amazing production full of stellar performances, wonderful music, and so much more to the City of Brotherly Love. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to see this one-ofo-a-kind show.

3. Philly Cider Week

Where: Various locations
When: Runs through Wednesday, October 31st

This week continues the annual libation celebration of Philly Cider Week. Several bars, restaurants, lounges, and beer gardens in the city will be participating in this seasonal week. Stop by the countless locations in the area and get some tremendous brews.

4. Chrysanthemum Festival

Where: Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Sq.
When: Runs through Sunday, November 18th

The week launches the annual Chrysanthemum Festival at Longwood Gardens. It’s the largest display of Chrysanthemums in the country. More than 17,000 chrysanthemums are transfixed into giant orbs, spirals, pagodas, columns, and several more unique forms. There will also be an unveiling of the Thousand Bloom Mum—a single plant bearing 1,437 perfect blooms on one stem. Stop by to see these beautiful plants and ride along the Garden Railway.

5. Parkway Party

When: Friday, October 26th

In collaboration with the year-long celebration of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway’s centennial birthday, Parkway 100 continues its series of celebrations this weekend. The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Parkway Central will host a pop-up beer garden, the Rodin Museum Garden Bar also returns. Stop by the food trucks in Logan Square or the vintage BYO picnic at Sister Cities Park.

6. Philly Powerhouse 2018

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Friday, October 26th, 6PM

Philadelphia’s annual hip-hop and R&B takeover is center stage this Friday. Hitmakers like SZA, Lil Uzi, G-Eazy, Lil Baby, Juice World, and Philly’s own Meek Mill are all highlighting this lineup. The Wells Fargo Center will be packed with thousands rapping along to today’s biggest hits. There will also be a Meek Mill afterparty at NOTO Philadelphia.

7. Twilight in the Gardens

Where: Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, 1020 South St.
When: Friday, October 26th, 7PM-10PM

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens continues its art exclusive series Twilight in the Gardens this Friday night. This BYO experience features workshops, live performances, tours, and so much more. This will be a great night for creatives in the city to link up or lovers of the arts to take in this unique experience.

8. Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia

Where: Museum of the American Revolution, 101 S. 3rd St.
When: Runs through Sunday, March 17th

This week marks the opening of Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia at the Museum of the American Revolution. This exhibit is an “interactive playscape reveals connections between our own city and Alexander Hamilton’s extraordinary contributions to the nation’s founding.” You can take part in this exhibit with your museum admission.

9. Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Where: Schuylkill River Banks
When: Saturday, October 27th-Sunday, October 28th

This Saturday and Sunday come to the scenic Schuylkill River banks for this storied and athletic tradition. The Head of Schuylkill Regatta will have an amazing course for the collective of competitors on the water. Come out for the high energy races and to see this great, rigorous, and powerful sport on full display.

10. Fall Punk Rock Flea Market

Where: 23rd Street Armory, 22 S. 23rd St.
When: Saturday, October 27th-Sunday, October 28th

The 23rd Street Armory will be full of collectibles and treasures this weekend. Their annual Fall Punk Rock Flea Market will be flooding the area for two days with clothing, old punk junk, records, figurines, and more.

11. East Passyunk Fall Fest & Spooky Saturday

Where: East Passyunk Avenue
When: Saturday, October 2th, 11AM- 4PM

East Passyunk Avenue will be buzzing with several Philadelphians this Saturday. The Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday event will have something for each family member and friend. There will be free pumpkin decorating, live music, a costume contest, a scarecrow scavenger hunt, and more.

12. South Street PumpkinFest

Where: 2nd & Lombard streets
When: Saturday, October 27th, 12PM- 5PM

The South Street Pumpkin Fest will have trick-or-treating, horse and hay rides, live musical performances, food vendors, a magician, and several other activities. This Saturday afternoon event will also have best costume contest. This family-friendly event is one that you shouldn’t miss.

13. Día de los Muertos Festival

Where: Penn Museum, 3260 South St.
When: Saturday, October 27th, 1PM-8PM

The Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia and the Mexican Cultural Center have come together to create this special Day of the Dead celebration. There will be traditional Aztec dancers, marionette puppets, sweet pan de muerto, spicy hot chocolate, and much more. The museum gallery will also be open for several exhibitions.

14. Festival for the People Closing Weekend

The Festival for the People has been going on for several weeks. As part of the grand opening of the Cherry Street Pier, this contemporary art and music celebration has pulled out all of the stops. This weekend there will be live performances, food, drinks, and so much more.

15. Islanders vs. Flyers

When: Saturday, October 27th, 1PM

The hockey season recently kicked off in the last month. The Philadelphia Flyers are ten games into their season. This Saturday night under the Wells Fargo Center lights home team will be taking on the New York Islanders for their 11th war on the ice. Come to the amazing arena to see your favorite hockey team get another win.

16. Hornets vs. 76ers

When: Saturday, October 27th, 7:30PM

The young core of Embiid, Simmons, Fultz haven’t been hitting their winning stride in the last few matchups. This Saturday night the team will be taking on the Charlotte Hornets. Come to the Wells Fargo Center and cheer on the emerging team and watch JJ Redick try to save us.

17. Tori Kelly

Tori Kelly is bringing her The Hiding Place tour to Philadelphia this Saturday night. As one of the best young vocalists in music, this stellar talent, and Grammy nominee has released two studio albums. Come to the Temple Performing Arts Center to hear the signature greatness of her vocals.

18. Love Me Some Comedy

Where: Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St.
When: Sunday, October 28th, 8:30PM

Skeet Carter & Comedy By TuRae Events Presents: Love Me Some Comedy! This Sunday night at Punch Line Philly. A great lineup of comedians will be bringing all the laughs to the venue all night long. Laughter and a good time is always a great way to close out your weekend.
