1. Closing this Week: Terror Behind the Walls

Where: Eastern State Penitentiary, 2027 Fairmount Ave.
When: Runs through Saturday, November 10th

The Eastern State Penitentiary has been doing thrilling and terror-filled tours for the entire season. The former high-profile prison had many frightening attractions coming from the cellblocks each week. Bring your family and friends out to this horrifying institution that will be filled with thunderous sounds, shocking moments, and more before its too late.

2. Veterans Day Weekend Museum Events

Where: Various locations
When: Friday, November 9th-Sunday, November 11th

The National Constitution Center and the Museum of American Revolution will be having special Veterans Days events throughout the entire weekend. There will be flag raising ceremonies, free admissions to the museum, USO concerts, wreath-laying ceremonies, Veteran discussions and more. The Independence Seaport Museum will also be hosting Veterans Day service this Sunday.

3. Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival

Where: Various locations
When: Runs through Sunday, November 18th

The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival kicks off this week. The inclusive and celebratory film festival has been a big-ticket in the city since its creation in 2008. The festival will include movie screenings, discussions, awards, and more. Don’t miss your chance to see some phenomenal works displaying the Asian experience on the big screen.

4. Matilda at Walnut Street Theatre

Where: Walnut Street Theatre, 825 Walnut St.
When: Runs through Sunday, January 6th

Walnut Street Theatre will be putting on a production of this beloved Roland Dahl’s novel for the next few months. Matlida The Musical features all the treasured characters that made the text one of the most well-known children’s books and film throughout the era. Come see the text brought to life like nothing you’ve ever seen before. This hit Broadway musical has won 18 Best Musical wards.

5. Roland Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Where: Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, November 18th

Roland Dahl is getting highlighted at another theater in the city this month. Broadway Philadelphia presents Roland Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Kimmel Center. Go get your golden ticket to a night of wonder, phenomenal performances, and stellar songs.

6. Holiday Season at Dilworth Park

Where: Dilworth Park, 1 S. 15th St.
When: Runs through February 2019

Center City Parks District opens the Dilworth Park Wintergarden, Rothman Institute Ice Rink, and Rothman Cabin this week. The rink is one of the memorable structures that perches next to City Hall during the wintry months. After skating with your friends and family be sure to stop by the Rothman Cabin for holiday-themed brews, small bites, and warm beverages. The opening festivities kick off this Friday at 12 PM.

7. UniverSoul Circus

When: Runs through Sunday, December 2nd

The UniverSoul Circus will be pitching its tents outside of The Mann Center until the end of the month. The traveling and energetic circus will have acrobatics, live animals, clowns, and all the animations you can expect from this memorable show. This will be one of the must-see events over the next month.

8. Friday Night Fights

Live Boxing in Philadelphia at SugarHouse Casino

Where: SugarHouse Casino, 1001 N Delaware Ave.
When: Friday, November 9th, 7PM

King Promotions presents a night of skill and brawn this weekend. The Friday night lights will be burning bright in the ring as competitors Christian Carto, Pondexter Knight, Ty Crawley, and others put their boxing skills to the test.

9. Meek Mill Night

Where: Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St.
When: Friday, November 9th, 10PM

This Friday night is Meek Mill night at Punch Line Philly. The Philly native and rap star’s music will be blasting through the venue at starting at 10 pm. There will be multiple DJs, drink specials, and more. Come hear the best tracks from the “Dreams and Nightmares” act.

10. Hornets vs. 76ers

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Friday, November 9th, 7PM

Joel Embiid, JJ Redick, and whoever else wants to show up Friday night will be taking on the Charlotte Hornets. Come to the Wells Fargo Center and cheer on the emerging team. The Philly faithful will be out in droves hoping to spark the team in this early season matchup.

11. 2nd Saturday Street Art Tours

Where: Various locations
When: Saturday, November 10th, 11AM–1PM and 2PM–4PM

Every second Saturday, Streets Dept’s Conrad Benner, will be hosting a walking tour of Philadelphia’s most stunning street art, murals, and graffiti. This will be an immersive and informative tour full of colorful designs and great conversation.

12. 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s 

Where: Citizens Bank Park, 1 Citizens Bank Way
When: Saturday, November 10th, 9AM (Registration) 10:45AM (Ceremony) 11AM (Walk Starts)

This Saturday is the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The annual walk for a great cause will have a special ceremony before the walk. The event raises awareness for the disease and funding for research and care. Be sure to come out to register, take part in the walk, or donate on the website.

13. Love Your Park Day

Where: Various locations
When: Saturday, November 10th, 8AM- 2PM

Love Your Park is a fantastic endeavor created by the city of Philadelphia. Every park in the city will be hosting diverse events geared towards beautification and cleaning certain green areas. Some locations will have breakfast and brunch for volunteers and activities afterward.

14. Diwali Festival of Lights at Reading Terminal Market

Where: Reading Terminal Market, 51 N. 12th St.
When: Saturday, November 10th, 11AM-3PM

Reading Terminal Market will be having a fantastic Diwali Festival of Lights celebration this Sunday. The event will have Indian cultural dances, authentic cuisine including a cooking demonstration, Indian art, Mendi hand painting, and more. The free event is open to all ages.

15. Philadelphia Wing Festival

Where: 2300 Arena, 2300 S. Swanson St.
When: Saturday, November 10th, 2PM-6PM

The Wing Bowl isn’t the only chicken celebratory festival in the area each year. The 2300 Arena will be swarming with chicken wing lovers this Saturday afternoon. Over twenty of the area’s best bars, restaurants,  and food trucks will be serving up their best wing recipes. There will be over 60 wing styles to choose from.

16. Philly Fall Crawl

2018 Philly Fall Crawl

Where: Various locations
When: Saturday, November 10th, 12PM-8PM

The Philly Fall Crawl will have several restaurants and bars participating in food and drink festivities this weekend. Take your custom cup and map to any of the locations for drink specials and more. Crawlers will be rummaging through several Center City bars for this annual Autumn that had 1,000 participants last year.

17. Blackhawks vs. Flyers

When: Saturday, November 10th, 1PM

The hockey season is only over a month old. The Philadelphia Flyers will be playing the next five games at home. This Saturday the home team will be taking on the Chicago Blackhawks. Come to the amazing arena to see your favorite hockey team get another win.

18. Quinnipiac vs. Villanova 

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Saturday, November 10th, 8PM

The Villanova Wildcats will have their second game of the season this Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center. The powerhouse program will be taking on the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Come see the defending champions continue to surge their season in the right direction with a great evening matchup.

19. Cowboys vs. Eagles

Where: Lincoln Financial Field, 1 Lincoln Financial Field Way
When: Sunday, November 11th, 8:30PM

The black jerseys have been confirmed! This Sunday night the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys in a bitter and firey divisional matchup. The Linc will be rocking as the Eagles try to put a stranglehold on the top of the NFC East. Let the “Dallas Sucks” chants soar through the air.

'Winter Warmup' Craft Beer & Festive Cocktail Celebration

Where: 23rd Street Armory, 22 S. 23rd St.
When: Friday, November 30th & Saturday, December 1st

In a few weeks, the 23rd Street Armory will be filled with a tremendous craft beer selection and several festive cocktails. The Philadelphia ‘Winter Warmup’ will feature three drinking sessions of winter brews and seasonal beverages. There will be 30+ breweries and 15+ specialty drinks on location. The lively event will also have food trucks, entertainment, fun activities and games, and plenty more. There will also be a winter coat drive hose less fortunate this cold, winter season. This will be an amazing and exciting sampling event that you don’t want to miss.
