1. Closing Soon: Historic Houses of Fairmount Park’s A Very Philly Christmas

2. Closing Soon: Christmas Village

Where: LOVE Park, 16th Street and JFK Blvd.
When: Runs through Monday, December 24th

The edges of City Hall and the area around the revamped LOVE Park has been packed with these pop-up wooden boutiques for over a month. The bustling mercantile village has the best crafters in Philadelphia all in the same place. Come purchase your holiday gifts at this booming annual event peddling collectibles, art, jewelry, candles, food, beverages, lotions, and more.

3. Closing Soon: A Christmas Carol

Where: Walnut Street Theatre, 825 Walnut St.
When: Runs through Sunday, December 23rd

The Walnut Street Theatre will be ending their seasonal run of the classic A Christmas Carol this weekend. Come see these talented and wonderful performers liven up the theater and warm your heart with the Ebenezer Scrooge centered tale before its too late.

4. Closing Soon: The Philadelphia Orchestra’s
Glorious Sound Of Christmas

Where: Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, December 23rd

Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center will be filled with choral splendor and beautiful Christmas music. The Philadelphia Orchestra, along with conductor Bramwell Tovey will be belting out the best hits. From “Jingle Bells” to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” the beautiful songs will be endless.

5. Closing Soon: Cut Your Own Christmas Tree

Where: Linvilla Orchards, 137 W Knowlton Rd. Media, PA
When: Runs through Sunday, December 23rd

If you’re living in procrastination city, USA and haven’t gotten a Christmas tree yet, Linvilla Orchards has the answer for you. The 40,000 Christmas tree farm has a multitude of 6′ to 10′ Douglass Fir trees. On Saturdays and Sundays, Santa Claus makes a visit to the lovely orchard.

6. Bredenbeck’s Gingerbread Workshop

Where: Bredenbeck’s Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor, 8126 Germantown Ave.
When: Runs through Saturday, December 22nd

Continuing in the family theme, Bredenbeck’s will be holding a gingerbread house decorating the event. There will also be a BYOB event for adults.  You’ll be able to take your gingerbread house home after sipping the night away with friends and family.

7. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical 

Where: Merriam Theater, 250 S. Broad St
When: Runs through Saturday, December 29th

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical has been in the city all week. Come to Merriam Theater to see this timely holiday production brought to life. Whoville will be brimming with excitement at this production that “The New York Times  praised as “100 times better than any bedside story”

8. A Charlie Brown Christmas

Where: Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.
When: Friday, December 21st, 5PM-8:45PM

The Philadelphia Museum of Art promotes this great cultural and musical showcase each week. This Friday, get in the spirit of the season with songs from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The Cartoon Christmas Trio will be performing many hits with the addition of the Cartoon Christmas Chorus under the direction of M’Balia Singley.

9. Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night

Where: Trolley Portal Gardens, 40th Street and Baltimore Ave.
When: Friday, December 21st, 6PM

This series of nationwide musical promenades will be taking over the city this week. “Each participant gets one of four tracks of music in the form of a cassette, CD, or Mp3. Together all four tracks comprise Unsilent Night.” This audience turned performer showcases one of the best elements of the holidays; togetherness.

10. Derek Gaines 

DEREK GAINES

Where: Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St.
When: Runs through Saturday, December 22nd

Comedian and actor Derek Gaines will be performing at Punch Line Philly this week. Derek can be seen on Derek has been a contributor to VH1’s Morning Buzz, TRU TV’s Greatest Ever,  in Morgan Spurlock’s docuseries “Connected”. Derek is also a cast member of MTV’s Joking Off and the co-host of MTV’s Broke Ass Game ShowTHE LAST O.G., and Will & Grace.

11. Die Hard Screening

Where: Philadelphia Film Center, 1412 Chestnut St.
When: Friday, December 21st, 7PM

If it takes place near Christmas, it’s a Christmas movie. I don’t care if Hans Gruber ends up tossed out a window. This film is pure holiday fun! This Friday night come to The Philadelphia Film Center’s screening of the classic Die Hard.

12. Trans-Siberian Orchestra

When: Friday, December 21st, 3:30PM & 8PM

Hear your favorite Christmas tunes ramped up in prog rock glory in an arena setting. The Wells Fargo Center will be rocking this Friday when the marriage between electric sound, metal, and blazing lights offers up this amazing concert. Trans-Siberian Orchestra presents this The Ghost of Christmas Eve musical experience. There will be lasers, extreme lighting, your favorite Christmas songs turned to power rock anthems, and more.

13. Pop-Up Museum: Sports and Leisure

Where: Eastern State Penitentiary, 2027 Fairmount Ave.
When: Runs through Sunday, January 6th

The archives of Eastern State Penitentiary have always been bursting with hidden gems and artifacts that rarely get their day in the sun. This week Pop-Up Museum: Sports and Leisure will allow you to peruse some of these hidden treasures with your own eyes.

14. Museum of American Revolution Christmas

15. Liberty Flea Market

16. Good Good Presents Naomi Ekpergin

Good Good presents Naomi Ekperigin (Broad City, Comedy Central)

Where: Good Good Comedy Theatre, 215 N. 11th St.
When: Saturday, December 22nd, 10PM

Naomi Ekperigin is a comedian, writer & actress originally from New York City who has appeared on HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and her own Comedy Central half-hour special. She’ll be lighting up the Good Good Comedy Theatre stage this Saturday night. For a night of laughs and a signature delivery, come out to this popular laugh house.

17. WDAS Holiday Jam

WDAS Holiday Jam with Charlie Wilson

Where: The Met Philadelphia, 858 N. Broad St.
When: Saturday, December 22, 8PM

WDAS FM will be hosting their annual Holiday Jam this Saturday night at the renovated The Met Philadelphia. Charlie Wilson will be headlining this night of smooth vocals and holiday serenading. Other acts such as Stokley will also be performing.

18. Raptors vs. 76ers 

76ers vs Toronto Raptors

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Saturday, December 22nd, 7:30PM

The Philadelphia 76ers will be putting their league-best home NBA record to the test this Saturday night when they take on the all-around league-best team in the Toronto Raptors. Come out to the Wells Fargo Center to cheer on Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and the boys in this Eastern Conference war.

19. Santa’s Last Visit to the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest

The Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest has provided some of the best events of the season. This Sunday will mark the last time Santa will be heading to the rink for the calendar year. Be sure to stop by with your loved ones, take photos, enjoy the cabin, skate to your favorite tunes, and more.

20. Texans vs. Eagles

When: Sunday, December 23rd, 1PM

The season is on the line this Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Houston Texans at The Linc. Ski Mask Season is here! The Birds will be looking to snatch another victory in an afternoon war with this dynamic AFC team. The must-win atmosphere will make the stadium electric.
