If you’re like me, you’re always looking for something new to discover and listen to. You also probably find there’s just so much content out there, it can be hard to find out what you should hit first and what you should put on the backburner.
Of course the first place to go is PiLive brought to you by your good friends here [available here and on Apple Podcasts], but if that’s not enough, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re in your car, the gym, on a run, or at home recovering from this weekend’s revelry, here’s something you should absolutely listen to.
This week’s episode of The JJ Redick Podcast from The Ringer featured one of Redick’s newest teammates: Tobias Harris! Three weeks ago, Harris joined the Sixers in what was general manager Elton Brand’s second bold move of the 2018-19 season. After getting killed online for being soft on an Uber kidnapping, Redick gave up on social media, so we don’t get to hear too much from him. And his show is generally pretty good depending on his guest, and this week doesn’t disappoint.
Redick and Harris cover a number of different topics over the course of the 48-minute show and it really helps get you more familiar with both players. For example, the two talk a bit about the similarity in their careers and how ironic it is that they’re playing together now. When Redick asks Harris about his feelings on getting traded multiple times and how he dealt with it, Harris gives a great perspective on his career and the path to the two becoming teammates now. Did many realize Redick was traded from Orlando to Milwaukee for a package that included Harris? Harris dives in as to how he approaches the off-season as the “Lab” where he works on his game and body in order to consistently grow and improve.
There’s some other fun little items included like the origin of the “Bobi and Tobi Show,” how Boban Marjanovic is the most famous person he knows, and whether the Bobi/Tobi or TJ/JJ bromance is the biggest on the team. Both guys are relaxed and get along great exchanging stories about their careers and we definitely get to know Harris a little bit better.
