1. Closing Soon: University City Dining Days

This weekend is your last chance to get tremendous three-course lunch and dinner deals. More than 35 restaurants in University City are offering dishes for $15, $25, and $35 during the day. A great meal and drinks can never be a bad way to spend your time.

2. Closing Soon: Ardmore Restaurant Week

Ardmore Restaurant Week features two-course lunches for $10 or $15 through Sunday. You can also get three-course dinners for $15, $25 or $35. Several restaurants, cafes, BYOB hot spots and more in the region will be participating in this great menu excursion.

3. Closing Soon: Philadelphia Podcast Festival

The 7th Annual Philadelphia Podcast Festival ends its 2019 run this Sunday. Several podcasts have been entertaining the City of Brotherly Love with live tapings and interactive shows. Over 50 programs have been in the region at several local hotspots. Don’t miss your chance to sit-in on all of the action.

4. Phillies vs. Braves Weekend 

Where: Citizens Bank Park | 1 Citizen Bank Park Way
When: Runs through Sunday, July 28

The Phillies are sitting in second place in the wild card race. A sweep in the series over the Atlanta Braves puts them back in the divisional race. Citizens Bank Park will be rocking and electric each day. Friday will be wintry theme night. Sunday is Bryce Harper replica jersey night.

5. XPoNential Music Festival Presented By Subaru

Where: BB&T Pavilion | 1 Harbour Blvd | Camden, NJ
When: Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28

The Camden waterfront will be the place to be this weekend when the 2019 XPonNential Music Festival Presented By Subaru takes over the BB&T Pavilion this Friday night through Sunday. The concert includes Hozier, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Blondie, Japanese Breakfast, Killiam Shakespeare and more exciting acts, and more. Come out to this wonderful display of musical talent take over the waterfront.

6. Philadelphia Freedoms

Where: Hagan Arena at Saint Joseph’s University | 2450 N. 54th St
When: Friday, July 26 & Sunday, July 28

The Philadelphia Freedoms will be putting on a show this Friday and Sunday at Saint Joseph’s University’s Hagan Arena. The display of professional tennis will be unmatched as Venus Williams and several other pros will be hitting the court.

7. Cirque Du Soleil: AMALUNA

Prepare yourself for incredible acrobatic feats and soaring heights. Cirque Du Soleil: AMALUNA will be captivating audiences for the next week.  There will be spectacular displays of movement, mesmerizing stunts, and so much more at these majestic shows.

8. Beer Gardens and Festivals

If you’re looking for cool and fun places to get some beer, wine, cocktails, and small plates, there are several options in the city. Trails on Tap, Parks on Tap, Independence Beer Garden, Collins Wine Garden, PHS Pop-Up, and several other places in the city have you covered for a kickback with some friends.

9. Christmas in July Events

As mentioned above, the Phillies game on Friday will be Christmas themed. Jet Wine Garden at Jet Wine Bar is hosting a Christmas in July Cookout this Friday. There will be festive decorations, themed drink specials, and Hawaiian fare from the garden grill. Guests can play Corn Ho-ho-hole and dance the night away to jolly Christmas tunes. Sesame Place will also be hosting a Christmas in July celebration this weekend. You can make Christmas cards, celebrate with the characters, and more.

10. Delaware Waterfront Events

Come to the Delaware Waterfront this weekend for several exciting events. Spruce Street Harbor Park hosts its Waterfront Sessions Friday. The Food Trust Market at Cherry Street Pie has been open for business for weeks and bursting with fresh produce and more. You can always hit up free yoga at Race Street Pier all week long or the Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest.

11. King Lear: Shakespeare in Clark Park

King Lear Presented by Shakespeare in Clark Park, will be continuing its run of free summer shows through this Sunday. The Shakespeare drama, full of pitfalls and family deceptions, is a must-see. Theater and art lovers, come out to watch this amazing show.

12. Movie Screenings

Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Admat

Where: Various locations
When: Friday, July 26

Outdoor movie screenings are true signature events during the summertime in the city. There will be a screening of The Mighty Ducks at The Oval Friday night. On the same evening, Dilworth Park will be featuring Solo: A Star Wars Movie. You don’t have to leave the same galaxy at The Mann.Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back with The Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann Center will blow you away.

13. Signs

Where: Paradigm Gallery + Studio | 746 S. 4th St
When: Exhibit opens Friday, July 26 and runs through Saturday, August 31

Paradigm Gallery + Studio is pleased to present Signs, an amazing new group exhibition featuring “artworks by artists who have reimagined the Philadelphia cityscape around us through signage in its various forms.” Cornbread, Drew Leshko, Kid Hazo, and Marissa Cianciulli are exhibiting in Signs. The creative collective places a spotlight on the history and creative culture of signage in Philadelphia. Signs will have a public opening reception this Friday, July 26, from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

14. Twilight in the Gardens

When: Friday, July 26 | 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The beautifully structured Philadelphia Magic Gardens will be continuing its Twilight in the Gardens party series this Friday. There will be live music and plenty of arts and crafts making at this event. It’s BYOB and will feature performers and teaching artists on location.

15. Good Good Comedy Theatre Weekend

Good Good Comedy Theatre has plenty of fun and hilarious options for you this weekend. This Friday night is Joke Bath: Comedy + Free Beer. Make Up or Break Up – PRIDE-Crastination Edition highlight Saturday night. Marie Faustin has been featured on Broad City and Unofficial Expert. She’ll be doing an amazing set this weekend.
