1. Closing Soon: Philadelphia Film Festival

The 28th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival ends this weekend. Chinonye Chukwu’s Clemency, the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival will be front-and-center on Sunday.  Knives Out will close the 10-day film showcase. 3. Paradigm Gallery’s Obsolescence

Where: Paradigm Gallery + Studio | 746 S 4th St

When: Runs through Saturday, November 23

Obsolescence features the work of Swedish artist, Ulla-Stina Wikander. Wikander has stunning pieces of embroidered vintage household items. “Through a meticulous process of collection, cutting, arranging and stitching, she transforms retro, vintage items into fully contemporary sculptures.”There is an opening reception on Friday, October 25 from 5:30-10 pm.

4. Art In The Sky: Spooks, Sights & Spirits

5. Come From Away at the Academy of Music

6. The Philly POPS: The Nightmare Before Christmas

7. Boo at the Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo will be having a unique and one-of-a-kind this weekend. 8. Cherry Street Pier’s Kids Masquerade Ball

Cherry Street Pier will be hosting a Halloween masquerade ball for your entire family. There will be face painting, arts and crafts, games, a spooky dance party, snacks, and more. Kids can create their own masks and take pictures in the photo booth.

11. Punch Line Philly’s Halloween Weekend

Punch Line Philly is a hotspot that’s always filled with top-tier performers and exciting events. This weekend, there will be plenty of Halloween-themed productions. 13. PowerHouse 2019

Philadelphia’s annual hip-hop and R&B takeover is center stage this Friday. Hitmakers like Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, Da Baby, Jeezy, Megan Thee Stallion, PnB Rock, Jacquees, Saweetie,  all highlighting this lineup. The Wells Fargo Center will be packed with thousands of fans rapping along to today’s biggest hits. There will also be a  Saweetie afterparty at NOTO Philadelphia.

16. Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

This Saturday and Sunday come to the scenic Schuylkill River banks for this storied and athletic tradition. 17. Día de Los Muertos at the Penn Museum

The Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia and the Mexican Cultural Center have come together to create this special Day of the Dead celebration. There will be traditional Aztec dancers, marionette puppets, sweet pan de muerto, spicy hot chocolate, and much more. The museum gallery will also be open for several exhibitions.

18. East Passyunk Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday

19. South Street Fall PumpkinFest

The South Street Pumpkin Fest will have trick-or-treating, horse and hayrides, live musical performances, food vendors, a magician, and several other activities. This Saturday afternoon event will also have the best costume contest. This family-friendly event is one that you shouldn’t miss.

20. Trick-or-Treat Trail at Franklin Square

When: Saturday, October 26 | 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Presented by Fox Rothschild, Franklin Square will be hosting an amazing trick-or-treat event this Saturday night. The event is  FREE for children 10 and under. Also, the Lightning Bolt Express Train will be making its traditional fall stop in the Square ($5 adults, $4 children) during the Halloween soiree.

21. Piazza Pod Park Halloween Events 

Where: Piazza Pod Park | 1075 Germantown Ave

When: Saturday, October 26th | from beginning at 12 p.m.

Piazza Pod Park will be hosting its first-ever annual all-day Halloween Super Saturday in Northern Liberties. Kids can enjoy a Trick or Treat Party that includes face painting, a moon bounce, and a petting zoo while a haunted DJ plays spooky family favorites. Kids are encouraged to wear their costumes and can make their own bags to trick or treat around the Pods. At 6:00 p.m. the ghosts and ghouls come out for the adult BOOzy Party, where guests can enjoy festive food, bewitched drinks, and live entertainment. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a costume contest for the best group costume and best couple costume for a chance to win a cash prize.

22. Halloween Spooktacular Family Concert

When: Saturday, October 26 |  11:30 a.m.

The Philadelphia Orchestra presents two spooky programs full of ghoulish favorites. Guest conductor Aram Demirjian will lead the Orchestra in the annual Halloween Spooktacular Family Concertan orchestral adventure featuring a monster mashup of iconic cinematic and classically creepy treats for the whole family. In addition to seeing Orchestra musicians perform in costume, audience members are encouraged to show up in their Halloween best for a chance to win the Orchestra’s costume contest.

23. Franklin Fright Night

When: October 26 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This Saturday, The Franklin Institute will be hosting a Franklin Fright event. The spooky adventure and kid-friendly event feature make-and-take LED trick-or-treat pins, haunting science experiments, and more. There will be a costume parade and an exciting ball-pit blowout.

24. 13th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut

When: October 26 | 10 a.m. (check-in opens)

PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) will celebrate its 13th Annual Mutt Strut this Saturday. Dogs and the people who love them will enjoy a fall festival and walk the scenic route in the Navy Yard. Each year, the Mutt Strut raises over $120,000 for PAWS’ lifesaving efforts. PAWS is the city’s largest rescue partner and is working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city. There will be music, contests, and more ad this fun event.

25. UCF vs. Temple

The Temple University Owls (5-2) will be taking on the UCF Knights (5-2)  this Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field. Facing their third-straight explosive offense, the program will be ready for the challenge. This battle of American Athletic Conference foes will be a marquee matchup this weekend.

26. Blue Jackets vs. Flyers

It’s still very young into the NHL season. The Philadelphia Flyers are seven games into their season. This Saturday night, under the Wells Fargo Center lights, the home team will be taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Come to the amazing arena to see your favorite hockey team get another win.

The Sketchbook Tour comes to the Liacouras Center this Saturday night. The R&B mega-show will feature Fantasia, Tank, Robin Thicke, and The Bonfyre. The Temple arena will be filled with tremendous vocals and some of the best performers in R&B.

30. Sleater-Kinney

XPN Welcomes Sleater-Kinney

Where: The Fillmore Philadelphia | 29 E Allen St

When: Saturday, October 26 | 8 p.m.

Sleater-Kinney will be performing at The Fillmore Philadelphia this Sunday night. The duo, consisting of Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, released their second studio album after their reunion, The Center Won’t Hold in August. The St. Vincent produced album will be put on display in front of their fans this weekend.

31. Jidenna

Wisconsin rapper, singer, and songwriter Jidenna brings his 85 to Africa Tour to the Theatre of the Living Arts this Sunday night. The Grammy nominee his fourth studio album, 85 to Africa, in July. The “Classic Man” will put on one of the best shows of the weekend.
