Flyers D Braun back in practice ahead of schedule, could play vs. Kings

Justin Braun could be back in the Philadelphia Flyers lineup tonight for a non-conference showdown with the Los Angeles Kings.

Braun, has missed the last six games due to a groin injury, but returned to practice Saturday morning ahead of tonight’s game. The 32-year-old’s return would give Alain Vigneault another veteran option in the backend going forward.

In total, Braun has two goals and eight assists in 42 appearances this season.

The Flyers also loaned defenseman Mark Friedman to AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, giving an open spot for Braun’s return. Friedman made five appearances this season, registering one assist and averaging just over 13 minutes of ice time.

Remaining at the Wells Fargo Center tonight, the Flyers will look to bounce back from a disappointing 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. Alex Lyon started in goal on Thursday, meaning veteran Brian Elliott could be between the posts tonight.
