Chip Kelly Tried to Call LeSean McCoy This Week and McCoy Hung up on Him

There’s been no shortage of drama heading into today’s Eagles-Bills game. Most of it surrounds LeSean McCoy and Chip Kelly, and DeMarco Murray has also made some headlines with his passive aggressive running and airplane style. There’s no doubt in my mind Murray sought out to sit next to the owner on the plane ride home from New England, and you can read more about that here.

During the week, Chip Kelly tooks responsibility for how McCoy found out about his trade to the Bills. Chip said that the trade wasn’t yet finalized when it was being reported, and McCoy found out about it before Chip was able to contact him. Chip’s said the move was because of money and nothing else. Of course, McCoy’s been using this as motivation ever since that time, and even insinuated his ex-coach was racist and would not take those words back when given plenty of chances to do so.

And now, according to the Inquirer‘s Jeff McLane, there’s even more drama. According to this report, Chip tried to call McCoy this week.

He tried again on Tuesday, according to sources with knowledge of the call. McCoy didn’t recognize the number and answered. When Kelly identified himself, McCoy hung up. On Wednesday, McCoy said he stood by offseason comments he made about Kelly’s not respecting stars and getting rid of all the “good black players.”

“I know he was pissed, and he should be pissed, rightly so,” Kelly said.

I mean, it’s easy to say McCoy is being a bitch and as a professional athlete, he needs to just sweep this shit under the rug. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’ll never tell someone how they should feel about something. McCoy feels how he feels. And right now, he feels that being a passive aggressive douchebag is the best motivation going into today’s game. So, good for him.
