SNY’s Chris Carlin Heading to WIP to Host Afternoon Show

As the Philly sports radio scene continues to evolve, another piece is falling into place over at WIP.

Chris Carlin, who currently holds multiple roles at SNY in New York, is reportedly coming to Philadelphia to host the afternoon drive-time show with Ike Reese, according to a New York Daily News report.

Former WIP host, Josh Innes, broke the story yesterday.

Carlin hosts the show Loud Mouths on SNY and has done so since 2008. Additionally, he calls Rutgers football games and used to do the same for Rutgers basketball, but recently gave that up.

In radio, Carlin earned his stripes serving as a producer for Mike Francesca for six years. He also had a gig on SiriusXM.

According to the NYDN report, Carlin will sign off of SNY this Friday. There is no timetable for his start at WIP.

Yesterday, we ran a poll asking you who you think WIP should hire in that role. Most of you went with Jon Marks, who could still theoretically join WIP once his non-compete runs out after football season.

What are your thoughts on the Carlin addition and him teaming up with Reese for afternoons?
