The Eagles may have found their next QB coach

After John DeFilippo left the team to become the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, a few names were thrown around the stratosphere for his possible replacement. Press Taylor, who was the Eagles’ assistant QB coach, was one of those names.

And now, it looks like Taylor could be the next Birds’ QB coach, according to a report from Ian Rapoport.

When DeFilippo was the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach, Taylor became his assistant in 2016 after being the team’s offensive quality control coach in 2013.

There’s something to be said for continuity in the NFL, and it’s clear that the Eagles are looking to promote from within and keep Carson Wentz comfortable if they’re going to go ahead with this. And I can’t really blame them.

The Eagles are still looking to replace Frank Reich as the team’s offensive coordinator. I’d expect that position to be a promotion from within, as well.
