Shooters Radio: WCW Starrcade 1997 deep dive

The greatest night in the history of our sport was anything but on December 28, 1997. After a year-long and change build to what could’ve been the greatest main event in professional wrestling history, egos got involved to make it one of the most remembered for a completely different reason. Opposite of what you’ll likely hear the people involved say about it when things like this occur – just because we’re still talking about it 20+ years later does not mean it did its job.

This night certainly marked the beginning of the end for World Championship Wrestling.

More from our deep dive:

  • Hogan vs. Sting: what went wrong?
  • How so many injuries plagued the once-epic card
  • Another injury
  • How a moment at the end of the pay-per-view ended a WWF angle
  • And more!
