Ed Snider Will Miss the Flyers Home Opener Due to “Recent Medical Treatment”

The Philadelphia Flyers will be taking the ice for the first time at the Wells Fargo Center tonight against the Florida Panthers.

They’ll be doing so without the eyes of Ed Snider watching overhead. The team’s chairman recently underwent medical therapy on the west coast in California. The exact reason was not provided.

The team’s spokesperson said Snider is doing well and that he is “feeling fantastic.” Ron Hextall also seconded that notion by saying he is “doing great.”

He is reportedly healthy and is just taking some down time to regroup and recharge.

Snider had previously battled and beaten cancer in August of 2014.
