Flyers Captain Claude Giroux Attributes the Team’s Recent Success to… What?

Over the past month the Flyers have made quite a run to get back into the mix for the postseason, and we’ve provided extensive coverage of their playoff push. Claude Giroux was questioned on Monday night by reporters after the Flyers big win against Winnipeg on what he thinks has led to some of the Flyers’ recent success.

“Since Tim Panaccio got [his] lower-body injury, we started playing better.”

Here’s the video.

For those that don’t know who Panaccio is, he’s CSN’s Flyers Insider. Clearly, Giroux was having a little fun at Panaccio’s expense. Panaccio recently rolled his ankle, breaking two bones and tearing several ligaments, when he slipped on ice.

I like the fact that even during a key part of the season, where there’s tons of pressure on Giroux and the Flyers, that Giroux can keep things light. The Flyers next take the ice tonight against the Capitals here in Philadelphia at 8:00 P.M.
