Cocktails of the Week: Parks on Tap Lemon Hill

Parks on Tap will be at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park this week. For scenic views of the city and the glorious Schuylkill River look no further than this traveling beer garden. There will be free yoga, happy hours with brews and food, hammocks, sitting areas, and more. The hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays 5pm-10pm, Fridays 4pm-11pm, Saturdays 1pm-11pm, and Sundays 12pm–10pm.

Center City Sips Picks: Sampan, Tiki, and Yakitori Boy

Each Wednesday between the hours of 5pm-7pm the areas of Avenue of the Arts, Center City East, Center City West, and Rittenhouse Square participate in Center City Sips. Over 80 participating locations have $6 cocktails, $5 wines, $4 beers, and appetizer discounts. Here are this week’s best deals.

Sampan: Sampan is one of the signature destinations in Center City for great Pan-Asian cuisine. The trendy spot has a great atmosphere, sizzling small and large plates, and allows access to its patio hangout hub Graffiti Bar.

Tiki: Casual and South-Pacific bar Tiki offers up some interesting decor and laid-back drink options daily. From the Gwen Stefani (Cruzan B-A-N-A-N-A rum, Kahlúa, coconut milk, and pineapple) to the Zombie 15 (Appleton Jamaican rum, Cruzan gold rum, Cruzan 151, papaya, pineapple, lime,  and demerara syrup), the beach barhas several cocktails to get you excited.

Yakitori Boy: At Yakitori Boy, you can get a classic agave margarita, a Hornitos spritzer, a sour apple Margarita, and a Boss El Avion cocktail for just $6. Try their discounted Kaiso Sashimi Salad, Spicy Tuna & Guacamole Dip, Vegetarian Karaoke Croquettes, and Pork Gyoza small plates. Yards Pale Ale Draft, Hell or High Watermelon Beer, and Flying Fish Seasonal Beer are the brews of the hour each week.

Old City Eats Picks: Panorama, Red Owl Tavern, and Sto’s Bar

Each Thursday between the hours of 5pm-8pm, Philadelphia participates in Old City Eats. Over 25 participating locations have half-priced appetizers, $5 beers, $5 cocktails, and other drink specials.

Panorama: Panorama will be serving up  $5 Stuffed Padron Peppers (aged provolone, Calabria chill vinaigrette), Pork Belly Skewers (pecorino, black pepper, caramelized honey), and Bruschetta each Thursday. Try their $5 Sicilian Rhum Punch (Averna Italian Amaro & Faber Local Rum, Shaken Over Ice with Orange, Lemon & Pineapple Juices). Beer lovers can sip on a $5 Tröegs DreamWeaver Wheat.

Red Owl Tavern: Come to bi-level American pub Red Owl Tavern for a rustic ambiance and amazing food. During Old City Eats they have a $6 Five-spice Cherry Smoked Pork Ribs with Bourbon BBQ Sauce dish. To wash down that flavorful small plate try their signature cocktail that fuses Hibiscus-infused Faber Vodka, lime juice, mint, simple syrup, and club soda. There’s also $4 Yards Philly Pale Ale.

Sto’s Bar: Sto’s Bar has plenty of pub grub food discounted during Old City Eats. Their $7 Eats Platter includes fried pickles, scrapple, and chicken dippers. Guests can partake of $5 well drinks as long as it includes Faber Liquors. There’s also a $3 selection of Penn Beer.

Night Out Restaurant Week Continues: The Delaware River waterfront and Northern Liberties have been transformed by the culinary celebration Night Out Restaurant Week over the past week. The last day for the dish deals is Sunday, August 19th. Come try several three-course and discounted menus before it’s too late.

Clues and Booze and Chews: Cliveden in Historic Germantown will be hosting Clues and Booze and Chews this Friday night. This will be a large-scale scavenger hunt, that includes drinks, small plates, and entertainment. The event begins at 7pm.

Drink History!: Historic Rittenhouse will be hosting  Drink History! this Saturday afternoon. There will be a beer garden, Philly themed foods, quizzo, prizes and giveaways, and more. The event runs from 3pm-7pm.

Reggae in the Park: This Saturday afternoon the Mann Center will be transformed by the sights and sounds of reggae. The 7th Annual Reggae in the Park concert series will feature SOJA, Chronixx, Toots & The Maytals, Dexta Daps, and twenty other performers.

Kukui Glow Your Mind Fest: Come out to Coda this Saturday night between the hours of 9pm-3am for their Kukui Glow Your Mind Fest. This massive dayglow party with include the latest EDM hits, glow toys, acrobatics, stilt walkers, colorful party decor, and a hoard of confetti.

TRL Dance Party: Kung Fu Necktie will be hosting a throwback party for all you “Bye Bye Bye” lovers and beyond. The club’s TRL Dance Party is this Saturday night and will run until 2am. DJ Dame Luz will play top hits featured on the show will television episodes of the series are projected throughout the party.

Rhytmn of the Night Party: Another throwback party will be taking place this Saturday night at The Dolphin Tavern. DJs Wassup Gina, Shearn, and Dave Tidey will be playing ’90s house hits and more. The party runs from 10pm-2am.

Battle of the DJs: This Saturday night NOTO Philadelphia will be hosting Battle of the DJs. This is the official afterparty of Wayne Ellington’s Annual Make It Wayne Tournament and Community Day. There will be eight DJs spinning the latest hits all night long. There is free entry before 11pm with RSVP.

DJ Aktive’s Schmidt’s Commons Takeover: This Sunday, from 1pm-8pm DJ Active will be throwing a blowout party at The Schmidt’s Commons. The first annual DapFest will include acts like Estelle, Freeway, Marsha Ambrosius, Peedi Crack, Ms. Jade, and other names in Hip Hop.
