Cocktails of the Week: Yards Best of Philly Party

This Thursday night, Yards Brewery will be celebrating their 2018 Best Local Brewery win. Starting at 6PM, the Yards will be giving everyone who enters their first can of beer for free and a koozie. At 7PM, the party will kick off with live music by TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb, Hardwork Movement, and Marah. The bar will be shelling out endless brews, there will be plenty of food, and there will be plenty of entertainment throughout the celebration.

Center City Sips Picks: Fine Palate, Giovanni’s Bar and Grill, and Las Vegas Lounge

Each Wednesday between the hours of 5PM-7PM the areas of Avenue of the Arts, Center City East, Center City West, and Rittenhouse Square participate in Center City Sips. Over 80 participating locations have $6 cocktails, $5 wines, $4 beers, and appetizer discounts. Here are this week’s best deals.

Giovanni’s Bar and Grill: Giovanni’s Bar and Grill features two fantastic cocktails during Center City Sips. For just $6 come try their Blue Dream (Hornitos, peach schnapps, blue curacao, and sour mix) or the Purple Rain (Hornitos, Chambord, pineapple, sour mix, and a  splash of Sprite).

Fine Palate: Fine Palate is offering up $6 Hornitos Margaritas and Hornitos Tequila Spritzers during Sips. Wine lovers can sip the hours away with $5 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The discounted small plates include $1 oysters, Pad Thai (can add chicken or shrimp with an upcharge), Japanese pizza, and Aqua Pazzo.

Las Vegas Lounge: Chestnut Street’s Las Vegas Lounge has $3 Narragansett cans, $4 Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, and $5 Chardonnay and Merlot. For those looking for a snack, the lounge has $5 Chicken Tacos (order of two), $3 Fried Oreos, $3 Fries, and more.

Old City Eats Picks: Stratus Rooftop Lounge, Tomo Sushi +Ramen, and Tuna Bar

Each Thursday between the hours of 5PM and 8PM, Philadelphia participates in Old City Eats. Over 25 participating locations have half-priced appetizers, $4 beers, $5 cocktails, and other drink specials.

Stratus Rooftop Lounge: Stratus Rooftop Lounge is known for its nightlife prowess. However, during Old City Eats, the club has some great deals. Stop by the lounge to try their Boozy Watermelon cocktail. It includes 1.5oz  Faber rum, .75oz fresh lime juice, and .75oz watermelon syrup. They have $5 Yuengling Draft and snack options.

Tomo Sushi +Ramen: The first sushi option spotlighted on this lineup is Tomo Sushi +Ramen. The arch Street hideaway features half-priced and discounted house salads, California rolls, and Alaskan rolls during Eats. This is a spectacular BYOB that never disappoints.

Tuna Bar: Tuna Bar is a Race Street sushi gem that has chic design and plenty of cocktail options. During Old City Eats, the Asian hotspot has $4 Shishito Peppers, will be poring up Lychee Martinis and gin & tonics, and have discounted Kirin beer.

Parks On Tap:  Parks On Tap is at Dickinson Square Park this week. The beautiful terrain will be bursting with lively guest, food trucks, the best brews, and more. On Thursday from 6PM – 7PM, there will be free yoga in the park. This Sunday will feature cooking demonstrations and a farmers market.

UBIQ & The World Over: Today from 5PM – 8PM come to UBIQ for the launch of Puma X Roland Day TR-808 sneaker collaboration. The first eight (8) people to purchase the new shoe will be put in a raffle to receive a classic and old school 808 machine. There will be live music and drinks will be provided by Red Bull and Jack Daniels.

Brasil Summerfest:  World Cafe Live will be hosting Brasil Summerfest tonight starting at 8PM. Xenia França, Ava Rocha, NEGRO LEO and DJ Eduardo Brechó will be providing the live music. There will be traditional food, dance performances, drinks and cocktails, and much more.

Little Rebel Beer Garden: This Thursday from 5PM – 8PM the Betsy Ross House’s beer garden, Little Rebel, will be hosting a pop-up. There will be plenty of drinks offered up by local bar Devil’s Den. Food trucks will be on location as well.

Night Market Kensington: Thursday night come out to Frankford and York for the latest installment of the Night Market. Kensington will be hosting this blowout food truck festival from 6PM-10PM. There will be endless food trucks, live entertainment, and plenty of new vendors including Dim Sum HousePuyero Venezuelan Flavor and Double Trouble Waffles and French Toast.

Night Out Restaurant Week: From the Delaware River waterfront to Northern Liberties, Night Out Restaurant Week will be taking over Philadelphia from Friday, August 10th through Sunday, August 19th. Come try several three-course and discounted menus from you favorite Fishtown eatery and beyond.

Market to Table: Reading Terminal Market has launched a new series called Market to Table: Chef Tour and Dinner. This Friday night Top Chef winner Kevin Sbraga will be touring attendees around the market, picking out ingredients, and cooking a fantastic dinner at this after-hours culinary display.

Silent Party at City Hall: OK, I think it’s finally happening this time. After a previous cancellation, the weather has cleared up to finally pull off this massive  Silent Philly and City Hall  mashup. This Friday night the headphone-centric danceathon will kick off at 9PM.

Wiz Khalifa Afterparty: This Friday night Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd will be performing at BB&T Pavillion. After the crazy set at the amphitheater, Khalifa will be hosting a Taylor Gang party at NOTO Philadelphia. The hip-hop act’s soiree kicks off at 10PM.

Philly Mojito March: This Saturday, eight Center City bars will be linked to host 2018 Philly Mojito March. There will be a signature mojito at each location and your ticket covers drinks, cover charges, and gets you access to food specials. The crawl kicks off at 12PM.

Dollar Jawn Day Party: The Dollar Jawn Golf and Social Rooftop Day Party is this Sunday from 3PM – 9PM will be the place to be. There is a $1 entry day party for the ages. DJ Scoota will be playing the latest hits, there will be plenty of drinks, small plates, and a packed dance floor.

This musical showcase will be one of the signature parties of the summer.
