New reports out this beautiful Monday morning state that on Friday, USC officials met with Chip Kelly about the USC head coaching job. The meetings reportedly came a day after Kelly said he and his staff would fix whatever’s wrong with the team. Of course, that’s easier said than done. It would make sense for Kelly to want to go back to college right now while he’s in the midst of his worst NFL season at this point, but it’s also a little rash.
After reportedly meeting with USC officials, Kelly then made a decision.

In response, USC officially announced today that interim coach, Clay Helton, will have the interim label dropped, and will become the permanent head coach moving forward.
USC makes the right call with making Clay Helton permanent head coach..right guy, right time, not a big name but a huge coach

Also over the weekend, LSU’s athletic director announced that Les Miles will be returning. Pretty hard not to make that announcement when he wins a game and his players proceed to celebrate by carrying him off the field. [Ed. note: Doesn’t it make the end of that game a little bit awkward, though? It’s almost like that should have been his last game at LSU.]
Yes, Texas is an option, and the University of Georgia’s head coaching position opened up over the weekend after they fired Mark Richt, but I just don’t see it happening as of now.
So, unless Jeffrey Lurie gets rid of Chip himself, which I don’t see happening, he will be here next year. Maybe a season like this will push him to evaluate certain things. Maybe this season was the ego check he needed to institute some change. Who knows? All I know is that I’m ready to start winning again.

Should he go back to college? Should he have even taken the call? Would Lurie fire him? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
