The one thing about Gregg Popovich is that he isn’t afraid to sit his star players during the regular season. Against the Sixers, it was a miracle he didn’t sit his entire starting lineup.
One of his players that missed the game on Monday night was Kawhi Leonard, but it wasn’t because Popvich wanted to give him some rest against a far inferior team. The official reason for the absence was listed as “gastroenteritis.” Spurs head coach Popovich told reporters that a cheesesteak caused the issue.
Kyle Anderson will start for Leonard, who Pop says had a bad Philly cheese steak sandwich. No decision on who starts for Duncan.

Well played.
Popovich, who is known for his dry humor was likely just joking, while throwing a little shade at Philadelphia’s trademark.
Just one thing though Pop, it’s not a “Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.” It’s a “Philly Cheesesteak.” Get it right, sir!
It’s not a Philly Cheesesteak. It’s a Cheesesteak.
