The 76ers are currently 5-38 on the season. Ever since they acquired Ish Smith, they’ve been on somewhat of a roll. You have to give a lot of credit to Sixers’ coach Brett Brown. He does a hell of a job with what little he has. Perhaps he’s even NBA coach of the year worthy, right? You’re laughing at me right now, I know it.
While I don’t think that he’s coach of the year worthy, one current NBA coach thinks that he is. New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher has high praise for Brown as he stated after his Knicks beat the Sixers 119-113 in double overtime on MLK day. Here’s what Fisher had to sat courtesy of The Score.
“Brett Brown, in my view, is the coach of the year already because of how he gets his guys to compete.”
Brown has been dealt one hell of hand with this Sixers team. Things started to look up for the Sixers once Jerry Colangelo was brought into the organization, which pushed Sam Hinkie to the backseat.
In fact, now that Colangelo is on board, he recently stated that the turnaround could be quick. It remains to be seen just how fast this team becomes a winner again, but it appears as though we’re finally moving in the right direction.
