We have been talking a lot the past two weeks about interviews, rumors, and all potential head coach movement on the Eagles’ front. Today, we got hit with information that a former Eagles great would love to come back to the team in a coaching role – just not as a head coach.
.@sethjoyner: ‘Would Love Opportunity’ To Coach Eagles’ Linebackershttps://t.co/U2zotAyzHQ

I’m always open to conversation,” Joyner told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show when asked about coaching in the NFL. “I want to see what you want to do, how you want to do it, what do you want me to do, what my role is gonna be. If I’m an assistant linebackers coach, what latitude I have.
“It’s just gotta be the right situation and when I look at the situation in Philadelphia,” Joyner continued, “I would love to have the opportunity in some capacity to come in and work with those guys. Because when I look at a Mychal Kendricks, when I look at it a Kiko Alonso, when I look at a Jordan Hicks — even DeMeco [Ryans]. These guys have tremendous physical skills and the physical talents. When I look at Mychal Kendricks, I wish I had his speed. Are you kidding me? I mean the guy can just flat out fly. He’s got aggression, he’s just gotta learn how and when to use it.”
Joyner even went so far to explain how he would help the Eagles’ young, talented linebackers.
“They gotta learn how to play the game with their eyes, it’s not just a physical game,” Joyner explained. “They gotta learn how to think through the game, they gotta learn see things ahead of time and that comes with coaching. That comes with film study, that comes with basic fundamentals that a lot of them don’t have and basic technique that they don’t have. I just think that I can make them a much better group of linebackers, you know, if I just had a little bit of time to work with. So I’d be open to it.”
If we want nastiness on defense with a focus on tackling and playing through the whistle, there would be no one better for that role than Seth Joyner. I do find it interesting that a lot of former players of recent have talked about getting back to “Eagles Football,” and some have voiced a desire in being part of that movement.
I for one would love this move, and think this would bring some life and excitement to our defense. Now, will Adam Gase… I mean, our next head coach think the same thing?
Let us know what you think in the comments and on social media.
I am a big fan of Seth Joyner and have loved him on radio, Breakfast on Broad, Eagles Extra and Philly Sports Talk to name a few. I think he would be a tremendous asset on many levels.
The 92 defense was really the last year of the great defenses for the eagles with that group reggie left in 93 Hopkins was done by 93 and they lost most of the lustre that was there between 86~90
I am a big Eagles Fan .In my opinion the Eagles will never win anything as long as
Roseman is around to interfere he should be gone
