For whatever reason, Deshazor Everett felt like he had to hit Darren Sproles in the head during a punt return on Sunday afternoon. A huge scrum broke out, and Jason Peters – who went after Chris Baker after an unneccessary cheap block on Nick Foles a couple of years ago – started to walk towards Everett, but didn’t get involved in the scrum. He said it was because he didn’t have a backup.

Zach Ertz also said it was a dirty hit.
“I was blocking so I didn’t get to see it until after,” Ertz said at his locker. “It was an obvious cheap shot. Darren was trying to field the ball, the guy hits him before the ball gets there. The official threw the flag for a reason … I’ve honestly never even seen the guy before or knew who he was going into the game. If that’s how he wants to make a name for himself then so be it.”
It wasn’t Everett’s first helmet-to-helmet hit of the game, either. He got Brent Celek moments before he got Sproles.

Suspend this assclown.
UPDATE: Everett said he felt bad about the hit.

Deshazor Everett on Sproles: "My condolences to him. Definitely wasn't intentional. I'm not trying to take a guy out of the game like that."

Not that it matters. Still, suspend the assclown.
