It is easy to see that the Phillies’ 2017 Opening Day roster will look much different than its 2016 Opening Day one, but they’re bringing another player back who wasn’t a sure fire returner.

Blanco is a dependable utility infielder for the Phillies who has spent the last three seasons with the organization. At 32 years old, he does not have much more time left in his playing career, but he still is a viable bat off the bench and is a serviceable replacement at any position, in case of injuries.
It’s hard to imagine that there was a big market for Blanco, but this seems like a reasonable money amount and Blanco was liked by the team and the fan base overall.
